Barça Set to Play First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
