British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community shared sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
