Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The author

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles combined, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
