Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
An aircraft ferrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet touched down based on standard protocol and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical problem.
