Star Rejects Anti-Vax Views After Lending His Voice To Controversial Pandemic Feature

The acclaimed actor has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that challenges the legitimacy of vaccines and lauds former health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Provocative Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book co-authored by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for allegations that the illness was a result of a bad strain of the influenza shot.

The publication's writing partner, the executive producer, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone radio host Alex Jones. Heckenlively wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the film.

A Firm Rebuttal

A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have provided a response pushing back against implications that he holds anti-vax sentiments.

"Many recognize that corruption might be present within the medical sector, but that cannot be equated to being against vaccines," the comment reads. "He has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His considerable work with the UN children's agency reinforces his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

It noted that the star did not shape the documentary's messaging and that questions about its content are best addressed to the producers.

Key Assertions Featured in the Documentary

As presented, the voiceover provided by Neeson features several strong points:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have called for "complete compliance" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "research has become dangerously politicised."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
  • It takes aim at pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it mentions a report that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Past Background and Ongoing Disputes

It includes a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the subject of a formal apology by the network for violations of guidelines.

Last month, RFK Jr called on the national health agency to revise its long-held position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, even with a recent study from the global health body confirming no connection has been found.

A Past Statement of Support

Differing from the film's narrative, Neeson has previously voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he described vaccines as "a remarkable triumph," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."

The film ends with Neeson's script saying, "This marks not the finish of our journey. It is the start of a new chapter."
